Re: Gray color background in PDF exported from Crystal Report not printing correctly in Digital Printer (CMYK)

Hi Sweta,

First, Printing from Word is not the same as printing from a .net app. Word and Office do NOT use .NET Framework, they are all still using WIN32 API's and GDI. .NET uses GDIPlus to do the rendering whcih is completely different, so comparing printing a word Doc to PDF does not work in this caparison case.

Try exporting a file from .NET to PDF format and see what happens to compare what CR is doing also.

I found an interesting post on MSDN Forums on how to using .NET:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/0a4fecba-6212-4e72-9e10-7874c6327e7a/converting-images-from-rgb-to-cmyk?forum=netfxbcl

From the info it appears the conversion is a very tricking thing to do so for now CR will not be able to support CMYK colour formatting.

Post your enhancement request to Idea Place.

Possibly Adobe has an API set to convert the document to CMYK formatting. Check with their Forum...

You may be able to adjust the various report colours using formatting formula if you can figure out what RGB colour converts to cmyk colours and set those colours in the formula.

Thanks

Don
