Its good to hear your issue fixed...
when comes to your other query regarding changelog deletion; Ideally we delete changelog data regularly as part of house keeping activity based on agreement made with client. just to save DB space we perform this as you know changelog holds data in ratio of 1:3/4 when compares to its counter part active table it is advisable to delete data from the changelog on regular basis but not daily
it depends on data flow and many other criteria.
actually SAP has given variant in the process chain with that we can do this, In my current project we are following same approach its one of the most easiest way. we do have other ways to perform this activity i appeal you to search in forum/google you will get countless very good docs regarding the same.
